Hey, gang!
I wanted to do something a little bit special as part of my DC/Hanna-Barbera series of interviews so an accompanying blog post will be created for the episodes featuring a Hanna-Barbera Beyond creator where I will be including some exclusive goodies, provided by each individual interviewee, when their episodes air.
For episodes 24 through 26 of the show I interviewed Future Quest and Future Quest Presents writer/artist, Jeff Parker, who was kind enough to share some early page breakdowns that were handed off to some of the individual artists working on the series.
They are an interesting behind-the-scenes peek and, as a fan of the series, I was really pleased to get a chance to see some of this process material. Here’s a statement from Jeff himself introducing the images seen below:
“Here’s some roughs I did during the series, usually because artists who were working on it at different times would have a hard time following the story. As the only one with it all in my head, I figured I could keep continuity better this way. Also, I just wanted to draw some of it! But I’m no Doc Shaner. The only art of mine you see is in the FEAR lair for a few pages. Also I’ll throw in the reference photo I shot of myself for Ron Randall to use in issue 4 when Race shoots the Allosaurus. Okay, maybe I was a bit of a control freak on this book…”
